Students in Mrs. Miller's Medical Science class recently learned about their immune systems and how our bodies fight off pathogens.
They practiced being antibodies by attacking pathogens in a cell. They demonstrated their knowledge of nonspecific immunities by having to attack pathogens with their eyes closed with small tweezers. Then, they practiced having a specific immunity by attacking pathogens with their eyes open and using larger tongs.
Last week, the Jackson R-2 School District Leadership team conducted professional development training for administrators. The team training also featured guest speakers who gave advice and provided mentorship for the new school year. Thanks to Mrs. Christine Warren, Coach Steve Burk, Pastor Chris Vaught, and Coach Steve Wachter for the wonderful wisdom and support!
